As a writer, baseball has always been, to me, the most interesting sport to write about. There’s more history, folklore, quirks and haunting moments throughout baseball than any other game – in my opinion anyway. It is interwoven into who we are, in reality, popular culture and even day-to-day speech. (How many curveballs were thrown at you lately? Did that thing at work come out of left field or what?)
Above all, baseball history is fascinating to me. It’s a joy to read, and write about.
